The Density Value allows you to define an ingredient’s mass per unit of volume. This will help produce more accurate calculations for Yield and Nutrition Information when formulating Recipes with ingredients specified by volume instead of weight (mass).
Example:
The density of all-purpose flour is 4.41 ounces per cup.
To configure the Density Value option:
Click the Nutrient Database icon to the left of the ingredient row.
The Edit Ingredient dialog will open. Click the Density Value option, located on the right side, middle.
Enter all three of the following:
Number of units
Units of Mass
Units of Volume
Click SAVE.
